Extracting and Cloning Styles
Clone the visual style of any thumbnail — capture color palettes, typography, composition, and lighting to create consistently branded content.
Style Cloning lets you capture the visual DNA of any thumbnail and apply it to new generations. Extract the colors, typography, composition, and mood — then reuse it across all your content.
What Gets Captured
When you clone a style, the AI analyzes:
- Color palette — the dominant and accent colors
- Typography style — font weight, size, placement patterns
- Composition — how elements are arranged (faces, text, objects)
- Lighting and mood — dramatic vs. soft, warm vs. cool
- Visual effects — blur, gradients, overlays, borders
How to Clone a Style
From a thumbnail image
- Go to Styles in the sidebar
- Click Create New Style
- Upload a reference thumbnail image
- The AI extracts the style and creates a reusable style profile
- Name it something memorable (e.g., "Bold Red Channel Style")
From a YouTube URL
- On the Styles page, choose to extract from URL
- Paste a YouTube video URL
- The current thumbnail is fetched and analyzed
- The extracted style is saved to your library
Applying Styles
Once you've saved a style, use it in two ways:
In the Editor
- Open any thumbnail in the Editor
- Click the Style tab
- Browse your saved styles and the built-in YouTube-proven styles
- Click a style to apply it to your current thumbnail
During Generation
- When generating a new thumbnail, select a style reference
- The AI uses the style's visual characteristics while creating new content
- The result looks like it belongs to the same visual family
Built-in YouTube Styles
ThumbnailCreator includes several pre-built styles based on proven YouTube thumbnail patterns:
- Expressive Face — close-up with dramatic expression
- Bold Text — large, attention-grabbing text overlay
- Before & After — split comparison layout
- Minimalist — clean, simple, text-focused
- And more...
These are available in the Style tab without needing to extract anything.
